Ved Prakash Sharma was a novelist/writer born on 10th June, 1955 in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Sharma had also written scripts for about half-a-dozen Hindi movies. His famous novels which broke many records and added to his popularity included "Qaidi No 100" and "Vardi Wala Gunda". His novel Bahu Maange Insaaf was made into a Bollywood movie in 1985.

Bollywood movie Anaam was made on the story based on one of his novels. Bollywood movie Sabse Bada Khiladi was made on the script based on Ved's novel "Lallu" He reportedly wrote the screenplay for the year 1999 Bollywood movie International Khiladi. The movie was directed by Umesh Mehra and it starred Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna in the lead roles.
