193-year-old Scottish Church School in Kol to open doors for girls

Kolkata : The Scottish Church Collegiate School is set to open its doors for girls students for the first time from January next year.

The co-education section of the 193-year-old school has been set up on the campus at 18 Duff Street, which is adjacent Duff Church on Duff Street.

Bishop Paritosh Canning said, “We are very happy that this old school in north Kolkata is set to admit girl students from the next academic session in January 2024.”

Bibhas Sanyal, principal of the school, said: “This was a demand of the people who stay around this area to open the doors for girls also. After receiving so many requests we discussed the matter with the bishop and under his supervision we embarked on a new journey to create a new history before celebrating our school's 200th anniversary.”
