The contest was held at the Mandovi hotel. Mrs Loyd (seen in the picture), wife of Eaun Lloyd, producer of The Sea Wolves (a Hollywood film shot in Goa) gave away the crown. We know the names of the three guys in the picture (let us not embarrass them by naming them). There had been a Dinner Dance organised by Rene, Maria and Linton Barreto in Association with the Goa Tourism Dept. We know everything, except the name of the queen of the day,

Alka Ravindra Amonker(Amonkar) was the Queen.

Alka recalls, "we didn’t even know about this contest, our friends Valentine Vaz/Delia Vaz who invited Ravi and I to the function didn’t mention anything about the contest. We didn’t have camera with us😊, both Valentine and Delia have passed since. I know their Bakery and Liquor shops are still run by their children.

"That was my first and last participation in any kind of a contest. [I later became a Chemist.] I had two daughters who were 9 and 7 in 1979. I was 32 in 1979 "
