OIML certificates

2023

TNN, Sep 15, 2023: The Times of India

NEW DELHI: India has become the 13th nation that can issue globally-accepted OIML certificates for measuring and weighing instruments. This is a big boost for domestic players in the sector, considering that they have exported Rs 600 crore worth of these products in the past three years, reports Dipak Dash.

As of now, manufacturers of measuring and weighing instruments are required to get their products certified abroad. Paris-headquartered International Organisation of Legal Metrology (IOML) is the international standard-setting body. The other countries are Australia, Switzerland, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden and Slovakia.
