The following was adapted from Kakoli Thakur, North East Sun and Rediff:
In the film, Masochon "Chon Chon" Zimik plays Molly Zimik who is treated as a "foreigner" by the plains Indians that she meets; she also faces sexual harassment.
Masochon V Zimik came to know from a friend that Yash Raj banner was looking for North-East faces for a film on hockey. So, she went to meet them and got the role.
She did not know even how to hold a hockey stick. Initially, it was tough but later she started enjoying. They had a three-month strict training programme, when they used to practise from morning 5 a.m till 1 p.m. They also used to go for swimming and acting classes.
Her favourite among her co-stars was Shilpa Shukla.
During the making of the film the girls playing hockey stars had their share of fights, they also had great laughs. Sometimes the weather was hot and sometimes very cold and they had to run around in short skirts using sunscreen lotion round the clock. They were all together almost around for nine months.
Her toughest moment during the film: There was a scene when the girls had to fight with some boys. There are a lot of guys in this shot. The girls had to kick them, pick them up and throw them around. It was very difficult for Masochon to maintain a fighting attitude.
Masochon was not very fluent but she learnt a lot from her Chak De India friends.
They went to Sydney and Melbourne. Besides shooting, they did lot of sightseeing and shopping.
Masochon is a fashion designer. Since 2009 she has been staying in Mumbai
