Kyelang

{Kaiiafig). — Chief village in the Lahul canton of the Kulu subdivision of Kangra District, Punjab, situated in 32° 35' N. and 77"^ 4' E., on the right bank of the river Bhaga, about 4 miles above its junction with the Chandra, and on the main trade route between the Rohtang and Bara Lacha passes. Population (1901), 388. A post otlfice is maintained here during the summer months, and the village has for many years been a station of the Moravian Mission, which maintains a school and a dispensary. It also contains the court-house of the Thakur of Lahul, and an observatory 10,087 feet above sea-level.
