The akademi has also announced the various endowment awards.

Vaisakhan said the akademi awards for 2019 would be announced in the next couple of months and with that the Akademi would be able to announce the awards for every year in that year itself.

He said the akademi has decided not to accept fresh proposals for instituting endowment awards. Some of the endowment wards carry only nominal amounts as cash awards. The akademi endowments would not be justified feels unless the annual interest accrued from the endowment corpus fund is equivalent at least to the lowest cash awards being given as part of the akademi awards.
