Delhi HC: intellectual property rights suits not to be transferred to subordinate courts

The Times of India, Dec 04 2015

Don't transfer IPR cases: HC

The Delhi high court directed its registry to not transfer civil suits on intellectual property rights to subordinate courts. A bench of justices G S Sistani and Sangita Dhingra Sehgal issued the order on a plea by Asian Patent Association which has challenged HC's November 24 order by which cases with value less than Rs 1 crore were to be transferred.

The court has stayed transfer of cases dealing with Designs Act 2000, Patents Act 1970, Copyright Act 1957, the Trade Marks Act 1999 and the Geographical Indications Of Goods (Registration And Protection) Act 1999. PTI
