Indawgyi
Lake in the south-west of Myitkyina District, Upper Bharma, lying between 25"^ 5' and 25° 20' N. and 96° 18' and 96° 23' E., and measuring about 16 miles b\- 6. It is the largest lake in Burma. It is surrounded bv low hills on the south, east, and west : and its overflow, known as the Indaw stream, flows first north-eastward and then south-eastward into the Mogaung, which enters the Irrawaddy some distance south of Myitkyina. The lake abounds in fish, and the valley surrounding it is fertile.
