The Hindu Business Line, November 26, 2016

Kairos Society, a US-based global organisation that helps aspiring entrepreneurs under 25 years of age, in expansion and finding resources, has appointed Govind Kavaturi as the President of Kairos India. He will hold the post for two years.

Kavaturi, who was the society’s India Vice-President, had helped its maiden President Santosh Yellajosula to start its operations in India. Santosh will continue to advise the society.

Kavaturi heads the Indian operations of Palo Alto-based technology company Branch Metrics. Branch had used Kairos’ network to kick start its operations in India.

Using its network, Kairos helps its members find human resources and expand to newer geographies.

“We will have our release of new fellows by March 2017, and are fully committed to send a few start-ups to K50 2017 (Kairos 50: 50 innovative companies founded by undergraduate students across the globe),” Kavaturi said after taking charge as President.

“From 2016, VC firms will be partnering with Kairos India to source early-stage start-ups. Our regional centres across the country will play a much stronger role in anchoring start-ups in their region to make them not only investment-ready but also help them get in touch with the VC firms,” the organisation said.

“Our current centres are at BITS Pilani, BITS Pilani Hyderabad, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kharagpur and VIT. We are keen to add more regional centres and increase our engagement with young entrepreneurs in universities,” it said.
