2. What's your present budget to pay on this car?

3. Are you wanting to produce it a regular driver? Truck double? or road course?

4. What's you basic familiarity with cars and electrical systems?

5....

So you just got a V6 Mustang and you desire to make it faster. Well there are a few things you'll or should know before you consider this. As im sure several older men on here would back me up on this article so here we go.

1. What are your long term objectives for this new car?

2. What is your current budget to invest with this car?

3. Are you wanting to create it an everyday driver? Truck king? or road class?

4. What's you basic knowledge of vehicles and electrical systems?

5. Do you have the time?

The fastest car is wanted by alot of people, the very best looking car or the loudest car. That's becuase every one who owns a gets the itch. And im maybe not talking about down there, im talking about the power itch, the speed itch, the capability to just take that part at 55 and come out running.

With many significant bolt on mods, you can do them oneself with some specialty tools and a good group of hand tools. Some need welding, which most places can do for an appartment rate of "X" amount of dollars where "X" may be the hourly shop rate.

Now were going to enter the specific mods.

CAI- Cool Air intake.

There are lots of different type of CAI availible in the marketplace. The air filter is placed by the fenderwell CAI in the fenderwell to obtain cool air because it rushes beneath the individual headlight. This is an excellent first mod, because all you have to are some hand tools and the intructions.

Plastic compared to. Metal

They're the 2 forms of components CAI can be found in. Many people just like the steel chrome applied types because it provides a pleasant look underneath the hood. Unfortuitously Metal heats up from outside sources( ie., motor bay) and internal friction of the air passing through it. Plastic on another hand stays cool becuase it's not a conductor of heat. the engine bay heat or air friction won't cuase this consumption to heat up.

Large Air Sensor and Housing

This is the peice that is inside your stock air box, and is, I think, among the bottle necks on the intakes today. The Mass Air Sensor, or MAS, measures the level of air coming in to the engine and sends that information to the ECU, where the ECU does its thing and tell Mr. Fuel Injector's how much energy to dump in respect to the Air Fuel combination. Lets say you have a (76.1mm) CAI and an investment MAS. Youll be attracting alot of air promptly @ Available Throttle, or WOT.

Lets do a in home test, when you have a cylindrical box about 6-12" long get it. If it is open on both ends, blow used it, and what happened? The air arrived the otherside without any problems, right? Now cover up 1/3rd of the other end and try again, little tougher? Same strategy on your own consumption. Still need convincing? Have you ever attempted to vaccum up something to big for the vaccum? Somewhat struggled didnt it? exactly.

Throttle Body

This is one of those black sheep parts where larger isnt better. 99+ Stock I do believe features a 65mm Throttle Human body, or TB from now on. If your not turbo, supered or No2'ed this mod should not maintain the near future until following a Power Adder, or PA.

Headers

Well, once more this is another mod that will not really do such a thing for your car or truck until you have significant mods and are going for a PA in the future, usually, youll acquire some hourse of "Fun"

Exhaust

The 2nd mod a lot of people is going to do or even the very first on their mustang. When considering a fatigue you have to take into consideration that a V6 won't ever appear to be a V8, its impossible unless you get 2 more cylinders. The stock V6 exhaust happens of each exhaust manifold and "Y"'s in to on right after the catalytic converters. Meaning comes with the Y adapter and passenger area hangers for the tailpipe and muffler, when buying a set, you can both look for one which is complete. Or you can patch together one for some dollars cheaper and expect everything fits. My guidance, dont go low priced, becuase you get what you purchase. Which brings me to backpressure. When your choosing your exhaust ensure you dont go over 2.5" if not youll drop backpressure. without backpressure the V6 will hate you and will not work right at all. You are able to get bigger then 2.5" if your Turboed or Supercharged, other then that I wouldnt recommend it.

Fatigue Recommendations

We can get this one from our axis the ricers. Exhaust tips dont add HP they add noise, it is when you add 3.5" tips on your 2.5" fatigue more of a effect, you think it's faster because the field says "adds upto 5 RWHP!!!" well it doesnt. But when you enter your car seems higher then it did before, so you think its faster.

Under Drive Pulleys

There are a couple of out there some are inexpensive and some are high priced. Things to search for when buying a set could be the harware they come with, a package and instructions deal. RPM-Outlet has 42% MotoBlue Underdrive Pulleys, or UDP to any extent further, for around $208 sent. If you've a huge stereo in your car, I would say 2000-5000Watts, you actually want to be carefull of the UDP's. They'll affect your cooling, receiving and Air Condition, and might slow your accessories some. They don't influence everycar, but there is a possibility. Steeda and ARP have some 25% UDP which certainly are a little more expensive and, well your paying for the name mainly. Installation is approximately a 1-2 time job according to your physical stage. Hint: A lever Puller helps installation. dodge ram 1500 hood
