Basmat Town

Head-quarters of the taluk of the same name in Parbhani District, Hyderabad State, situated in 19° 20' N. and 77° 10' E. Population (1901), 8,445. Besides the tahstl and police inspector's offices, it contains three schools and a post office. Basmat is a busy centre of the grain trade.
