Bara. Lacha

Mountain pass in the Lahul canton of the Kulu subdivision of Kangra District, Punjab, situated in 32 49" N. and 77 28' E., on the Central Asian trade route over the Western Hima- layas, from Darcha in Lahul to the Rupshu country in Ladakh. The pass is 16,500 feet above the sea; but though the ascent on both sides is easy, it can be crossed by laden yaks and ponies only during the summer. The Chandra and Bhaga rivers (Chenab) rise on either side of the pass.
