2017 was a tough year for rule of law with declines around the world and few cases of any improvement. World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index 2017-18, which studied 113 countries on 44 indicators, found rule of law scores fell in a third of the countries surveyed, and fundamental rights were the hardest hit along with more governments exercising indiscriminate power

2022

Rule of Law Index (ROLI) where India has been ranked 77th out of 140 countries in 2022 by the World Justice Project (WJP), a US-based civil society group that rates countries based on the accountability of executives and respect for fundamental rights of people.
