In an exclusive interview with The Times of India Kareena said, she rejects films if they don't excite her. In the past Kareena has said 'no' to a lot of films which later went on to be the biggest blockbusters. Take a look at the blockbusters which Kareena refused.
Kaho Na Pyar Hai: The film which made Ameesha an overnight star was initially offered to Kareena Kapoor Khan. But after shooting for a couple of days, Kareena walked out of the film as she thought the film focused more on Hrithik than on the female lead. Ameesha Patel was then offered this role which she gladly accepted. Hrithik and Ameesha emerged as the cutest couple overnight. Till today, Kaho Na Pyar Hai is considered one of the most romantic movies ever.
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam: Kareena Kapoor was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first choice for 'Nandini' opposite Salman. Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to work with her ever since her first film 'Refugee' came out. The film later went to Aishwarya Rai who won acclaim for her role as 'Nandini'. Kareena was later cast in 'Bodyguard' alongwith Salman Khan which emerged as Kareena's biggest hits of all times.
Kal Ho Na Ho: Guess who was offered the role of the bubbly 'Naina' in Karan Johar's 'Kal Ho Na Ho'? Well, it was none other than Kareena Kapoor. Kareena's refusal made things turn sour between her and KJo. The film was later offered to Preity Zinta to still considers 'Kal Ho Na Ho' her best film ever. Karan Johar and Kareena bridged their differences on Karan's chat show.
Fashion: We all know that Kareena was Madhur Bhandarkar's second choice for 'Heroine' but very few know that she was his first choice to play the lead role in 'Fashion' too. However, Kareena's tight schedule did not permit her to take up this film. Madhur presented the idea to Priyanka and she immediately agreed to play the part. Priyanka even won National Award for her role. Things have not been going smooth between Kareena and Priyanka ever since.
Ram Leela: Possibly the biggest mistake of Kareena's career would be her decision to opt out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela'. The actress credits her mood swings as the reason behind not doing the film. Deepika has won all awards this year for her epic portrayal of Leela in Ram Leela. However, Kareena still maintains, she does not regret the fact that she left the film. Ranveer Singh was paired opposite Deepika in this blockbuster.
