Country-wise freedom status in 2018

As many as 68 countries suffered net declines in political and civil liberties during 2018, with only 50 registering gains, according to a report from Freedom in the World. The latter assesses the levels of political rights and civil liberties enjoyed by individuals, which are influenced by both state and non-state factors including insurgents and armed groups.
