This could be one of the few surviving sequences available to the public from Kamal Narayan Choudhury's Bhaity (1972), the first ‘fully in colour’ film in Assamese. A younger man, also seems to be a Muslim, shoos the older man away and relieves the dog of his agony.

While that is Bhaity’s claim to a place in history, many Assamese also rate it as their favourite film.

[edit] The available clip…

The available clip shows an elderly Muslim man pull a dog out of a village hut by his tail. He then swirls the dog in the air several times by the tail. The dog cries out in pain. This writer is no animal rights activist but that scene is cruel by any standards.

On youtube this 42-second clipping has been categorised as Comedy.

Tragic relief, perhaps.

Sanity comes in the shape of a young man, also wearing a shalwar-qameez (but no beard or skull cap), hence probably a Muslim, too, who shoos the older man away.
