Infrastructure is the next big thing with the new Modi Government at the helm, and he has been heading of one of the biggest players, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), for the last 15 years.

He remains indispensible to his company, which twice modified its retirement rules to keep AM Naik in the fold. In 2003, the chairman's retirement age was extended to 70, and in 2012 the retirement age of the Executive Chairman, a post specially created for Naik, was extended to 75.

He successfully restructured L&T and bagged big-ticket projects such as the Riyadh and Qatar Metro in 2014.
