Andrea Tariang is an Indian guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. In 2016 she played a major role in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful arthouse Hindi-Urdu film Pink, in which she played a character, an event manager. named after herself.

Hometown: Shillong.

Schooling: Kiddies Corner, Shillong.

Currently based in: Mumbai.

Career

Her music: contemporary R&B and Soul.

(The North East Today) adds: ‘Since she moved to Bombay, she’s been doing a few duo hugs with Karan Joseph, a very talented keyboardist based out of Bombay.

‘It was Film producer Ronnie Lahiri, another Shillongite who spotted her talent at a young age … she was a little scared as she didn’t know any Hindi. But since then, she took up Hindi classes and [did] most of her dialogues in Hindi..

‘Andrea is also a model who’s worked with some of the best people in the industry like Daniel Syiem, Eddy Lalrempuia and has been featured in leading magazines like Vogue.’

When she was first approached for the role in Pink, When she told Amitabh Bachchan on set that she was really honoured to be working with him, he told her “What rubbish!”
