Waiting time for surgeries

Dec 27 2014

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi was established by the AIIMS Act of 1956. For a long time, it remained the only medical institute of its kind in the country providing super-speciality care at an affordable cost. The act was amended in 2012 and six new AIIMS were established at other locations. The waiting period for surgery in various departments of AIIMS, Delhi shows the immense burden of patients on the institute. There is obviously no waiting period for emergency cases, but for some other cases it can stretch up to five years
