Town in the Dataganj tahsil of Budaun District, United &lt;br /&gt;
Provinces, situated in 27 degree 55' N. and 79 degree 15' E., 12 miles south-east of&lt;br /&gt;
Budaun town. Population (1901), 6,327. The town is said to have &lt;br /&gt;
been founded by the emperor Ala-ud-din Alam Shah after his abdication &lt;br /&gt;
in 1450. The only building of any interest is the mosque built during &lt;br /&gt;
the time of Aurangzeb, which, however, contains a fragment of an older &lt;br /&gt;
inscription dated 1307. Alapur is administered under Act XX of 1856, &lt;br /&gt;
with an income of about Rs. 900. A market, held twice a week, is of&lt;br /&gt;
some local importance. The middle school has 86 pupils.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
