LOCATION: Kundian, NW region of Punjab Province; Approximately 200km SW of Islamabad

SUBORDINATE TO: Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC)

SIZE: Appears to be a 300km² facility with numerous buildings

FACILITY STATUS: Operational

The Kundian Nuclear Complex-1 (KNC-1) is located adjacent to the CHASNUPP-1 and CHASNUPP-2 facilities. The facility has been manufacturing fuel for the KANUPP reactor in Karachi since Canada halted its supply of heavy water and fuel to Pakistan in the late 1970s. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the KNC-1 facility has a 20-ton capacity.
